Those Seven Steps

Wronged by her family and forced into an arranged marriage, a despondent Indian bride carries out her dangerous escape on the eve of her wedding in an attempt to return to her former life in India.


Years of metamorphosis left feelings of grief and loss in her. What remains with her is not anger nor dejection but lots of questions to self and to the world.


Tanked Fish  (Thotti Meengal)

The story line revolves around a 8 year old girl Hashini – who finds herself in the confines of her home, barred from talking to her neighbors, friends; watching TV, subsequently prevented from using the phone. She feels she is a prisoner in her own home, imprisoned by jail guards – her own parents.


City Girls

City Girls' is an intimate portrayal of two young girls from small towns of India now living in Delhi. The film attempts to deconstruct the image of ‘the city’ and what it means for a young woman brought up in an 'elsewhere' she's longed to escape from all her life.

Rubaroo [Faces]’ applies a distinct approach to its visual development which ensures that the punch of the film truly lands. The plot has set out to convey an important social message, one about cruel, brutal acid attacks carried out against women in India.

Happy Independence Day

If you're not free to love, you're not free. A couple experiences the fear and anxiety owing to a seemingly creepy troublemaker. The situation makes them question their independence.


Her Canvas

On a cloudy melancholy evening Myra a visual artist experiences an overwhelming surge of emotions. Hinged between past and present she tries to make sense of reality around her. Deeply drenched in fantasy and memories she reflects on her relationship with Surbhi.

War is like the dust raised by the wheels that crush the pavement. As the dust settles, the pavement reveals its indelible scars. The children born in the cracks in the pavement are growing up with the dangers of war, but they are still trying to grow up in their own way, and it seems that more people need to help them in this effort.


My Heart is an Ocean

As the water recedes the reclaimed shore of Mumbai every evening, three children living on its shore in a small fishing ghetto come out to play on this temporary playground. The sea dictates game of the day.


Mask

Chinese-American Wang Hao is a marathon runner. After the epidemic in 2020, his family died one after another. Physically disabled due to Covid-19 and its complications, he is confined to a wheelchair, and today he received a mask that will allow him to travel back in time to see his family again.


Chun Chun Maati

This cine-poem, Chun Chun Maati, attempts to evoke the eternal spirit of pastoral communities roaming with their animals across the planet in a way of life that is deeply attuned to nature, bringing out their resilience, fortitude and the value of impermanence!
